Gillian + Barry | Villa Rosa, St.Julians
A few months back I posted a photo from Gillian & Barry's wedding on my Facebook Page. It was at the time and still is one of my favourite images from this year's wedding season. Gillian and Barry got married at the end of June when the heat had started to kick in and the summer had officially started. The last thing anyone expected that day was a storm and heavy rain.
The child of Prague statue was out the night before coins in tow and head broken to try and keep the rain away. If you have no idea what I'm on about the Child of Prague statue is an Irish tradition where you place the statue outside in the hope of gaining some divine assistance for good weather on the big day. Needless to say this time round it didn't work.
What I loved the most about Gillian & Barry's wedding is that at no point did the weather dampen their spirits. With big smiles, excitement and great grace Gillian made her way into the church, and as per usual in Malta the weather brightened up after a few hours and they went on to have drinks on the Bastions in Mdina and an amazing outdoor reception in Villa Rosa.
Here are some of my favourite images from the day...
